Culverhouse awards scholarships every year to students of outstanding merit.
The Culverhouse College of Business scholarships are awarded to undergraduate students enrolled in Culverhouse who possess a 3.0 grade point average or higher. Once an application is submitted, it cannot be viewed again. Please make sure to write down any information you need before submitting your application.
You must complete the undergraduate scholarship application by the due date to receive any type of award.

Deadlines
The priority deadline for continuing students and all new transfer students is March 1, 2024. Unless otherwise noted, Culverhouse scholarships are specific to the school. For this and other reasons, they are awarded as they become available in the spring for the following academic year. The deadline for incoming freshmen to submit a scholarship application is January 15, 2024.

To be considered for Culverhouse College of Business scholarships, you must submit an undergraduate scholarship application. The application is submitted through myBama. Review
Applications are reviewed by the Culverhouse College of Business Scholarship Committee after the March 1st deadline. If awarded, you will receive an email notifying you of the award with the amount.

Below are the criteria for each college-wide scholarship. Please review the scholarships below to determine whether you meet the qualifications. For departmental scholarships, please contact your major department.
The Alan B. Bruno Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration is given to entering full-time freshmen who enroll in the Culverhouse College of Business and whose high school academic records, college entrance test results, and character indicate a reasonable probability of success. Recipients must be in-state residents, must have scored a maximum of 25 on the ACT or an equivalent score on the SAT, and should demonstrate financial need, high moral character, love of community, and a willingness to participate in community service.
Emogene B. and Edward Carleton Evans Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business.
The Scott J. Connor Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who have maintained a 3.6 high school GPA and are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business.
The Yoshihito Kurose Endowed Scholarship
Priority is given to students enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business who show interest in international affairs with a concentration in Japan. Second priority shall be given to students enrolled in Culverhouse.
The Birdwell Endowed Scholaship
Priority of consideration shall be given to students who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business, who graduated from a high school within the state of Alabama, and whose academic records indicate scholastic success by achievement of a 3.0 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale.
Pamela and Franscico Codina Endowed Scholarship for Study Abroad
Priority of consideration is given to students who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business and who are participating in the study abroad program.
William Richard Easterling Annual Scholarship
Priority is given to undergraduate students enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business who graduated from HS in Chilton Co and have demonstrated signs of a strong work ethic, personal integrity, and leadership.
Bobbette B. & Lowell J. Friedman Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to students enrolled full-time in the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business. Achninistration who graduated from a high school in Mobile County, Alabama, and who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines.
To the extent permitted by law, preference shall be given to those students whose enrollment would further the University's compliance with its court-imposed remedial obligations to diversify its student population or whose enrollment would enhance the diversity of the University's student body. Among qualified applicants, recipients shall be selected on the basis of a good moral character, strong work ethic, and demonstrated leadership skills.
Alexander Bidgood Conville Denny Scholarship Fund 1231
This fund is to award scholarships to deserving full-time undergraduate students in the Culverhouse College of Business.
Marcus Whitman Endowed Graduate Fellowship 1231
Fellowship is awarded to outstanding students pursuing a course of study leading to a graduate degree in the Culverhouse College of Business.
Alabama Power C&BA Endowed Scholarship
Priority to students enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA, financial need, background shows evidence of distinguished academic work and leader among peers.
Alabama Business Hall of Fame Endowed Scholarship
Priority is given to full-time Undergraduate students in CBA who are 1st generation and are residents of Alabama.
The W. Allen Cox Endowed C&BA Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to students who are from Baldwin County and who intend to pursue a degree in the Culverhouse College of Business and who demonstrate financial need, however, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines.
The Lieutenant Nathan Luke Cox, USMC Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to students who are from Baldwin County and who intend to pursue a degree in the Culverhouse College of Business and who demonstrate financial need, however, not necessarily as defined by federal guidelines.
The Eliza and Hugh F. Culverhouse Student Assistance Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to full time students in CBA and who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. Apply here.
The D’Amico Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to first-generation college students who are enrolled as undergraduates in the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration, who graduated from high schools in Jefferson and Shelby County, Alabama, and who maintain the grade point average required by the College. It is the donor’s desire that recipients possess leadership qualities and a strong work ethic and are well-rounded as demonstrated by their involvement in on and off campus extracurricular activities.
The Keith & Keri Donald IT Entrepreneurship Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to juniors and seniors majoring in information technology disciplines, which includes MIS, and CS who possess a minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and who have demonstrated commitment to their information courses. Recipients shall demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines, and possess an unmet need equal or greater than the award amount. Apply here.

Priority of consideration shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled in CBA.
Dot Martin Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to full time students in CBA who demonstrate financial need although not necessarily defined by federal guidelines. First preference shall be given to those who possess a strong work ethic and desire to succeed but not necessarily a high grade point average.
J. Barry Mason Commerce Executives Society Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to persons who academic records and admissions test scores indicate a high probability of outstanding academic performance.
The Michael Barry Mason “You Can Do It” Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to physically challenged students who are residents of Alabama and who are enrolled in degree programs in CBA.
Virginia K. & William Morrow Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to physically challenged students who are residents of Alabama and who are enrolled in degree programs in CBA.
Regions Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to students enrolled in CBA. It’s the donor's intent that the scholarship earnings be divided evenly between undergraduate and graduate students.
The Joyce Snyder Smith & Howard M. Smith Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to full time undergraduate female students who are enrolled in CBA, demonstrate financial need, and possess a 3.0 gpa. The scholarship is renewable for no more than three subsequent academic years of an undergraduate's education. The scholarship shall cover 50% of the total tuition. It shall not cover books, room and board, or any other expenses involved in attending UA.
Tidwell-Lovett Family Endowed Scholarship for the Study Abroad Program at Culverhouse
Priority of consideration shall be given to students enrolled full-time in the Culverhouse College of Business who are considering study abroad and immersion programs. First preference shall be given to students who have graduated from a high school in the state of Alabama. If no students meet the above criteria, second preference shall be given to students who have graduated from a high school outside of the state of Alabama. Apply here.
The Benefield Stephens Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to students enrolled full-time in the Culverhouse College of Business who are considering study abroad and immersion programs. First preference shall be given to students who have graduated from a high school in the state of Alabama. If no students meet the above criteria, second preference shall be given to students who have graduated from a high school outside of the state of Alabama.
Elizabeth Butler Warner Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to students enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration who are pursuing business degrees but are also minoring in art history, theatre, film, or other such fields that demonstrate an interest in the cultural and creative arts. It is the donor's desire that scholarships be awarded to students who demonstrate a strong work ethic and desire to succeed but whose past academic performance was not strong enough to qualify for significant scholarship support.
The Hester Joe Wills Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Benefits students who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business, with preference given to those who meet one or more of the following criteria, listed in order of importance: female students who are residents of the state of Alabama, students who are members of the Alabama Forensic Council, students who have a 2.5 grade point average or higher on a 4.0 scale, and students who are involved in extracurricular activities.
Business Honors Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to full-time students in CBA. Must be Business Honors Students.
The Rusty and Molly Reid Endowed Scholarship
The scholarship will benefit students who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. Additional priority is given to graduates from high schools within Tarrant County, Texas. It is the donors’ desire that the endowment support a student who is not otherwise receiving multiple sources of financial support for his or her college education.
Blue Lyles Family Endowed Scholarship
The scholarship will benefit students who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business and who graduated from a high school in the state of Kentucky.
John F. Saxon Memorial Endowed Scholarship
First priority of consideration shall be given to students enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Commerce.
Barth Family Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to third- or fourth-year students enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration who have a concentration in data analytics and who are U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents.
Ty Lawrence Field Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to full time undergraduate students enrolled in CBA who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines.
Joseph Reid Skinner Memorial Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to students who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business who are members in good standing of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, and who exhibit strong character such as leadership, community service, and academic achievement.
Joanne & David J. Cooper Sr. Endowed Scholarship
The scholarship will benefit students who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business, who are majoring in operations management with a concentration in the transportation industry, who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines, and who maintain a grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
C. Kemmons and Norma Wilson Finish Line Students Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to junior and senior level students who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business who have faced hardships in either their personal lives or at home and may not otherwise be able to attend college due to financial need. The Marillyn Hewson Undergraduate Scholarship in Cyber Security
The scholarship will benefit sophomore, junior, or senior students who are enrolled full-time in the Culverhouse College of Business, part of the cyber security program, who possess a 3.2 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale, and who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. William Edward Burrus Jr. Endowed Scholarship in the Culverhouse College of Business

Fayard First-Generation Business Scholarship Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to full time first-generation students enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business who graduated from a high school in the state of Alabama, and demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. To remain eligible, freshmen recipients must maintain at least a 2.8 grade point average and sophomore, juniors, and seniors must maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Susan and Grayson Hall Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to students who graduated from Sylvania High School in Sylvania, Alabama, are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business, whose parent or guardian is an employee of Regions Bank and who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. Second priority of consideration shall be given to students who graduated from a high school in DeKalb County, Alabama, are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business, whose parent or guardian is an employee of Regions Bank and who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. The scholarship shall benefit junior or senior level students enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business who have faced hardships in either their personal lives or at home and may not otherwise be able to attend college due to financial need. The scholarship will benefit students enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business and majoring in finance, who exhibit high moral character and servant leadership. Anderson Family Foundation Scholarship
First priority of consideration shall be given to graduate or undergraduate students who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business (the “College”) who have a parent that works for an Anderson family company. If no qualified applicants meet the criteria in the first priority of consideration, second priority of consideration shall be given to graduate or undergraduate students enrolled in the College who are single parents. If no qualified applicants meet the criteria in the first or second priority of consideration, third priority of consideration shall be given to graduate or undergraduate students enrolled in the College who are currently or previously employed. The scholarships shall not exceed the full cost of tuition, books and fees. The scholarships may be renewable annually until graduation from the College as long as the student has satisfactory academic performance. If there are no qualified applicants who meet these criteria, the College may award scholarships, not to exceed the full costs of tuition, books and fees, to other applicants enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business.

Priority of consideration shall be given to students enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration who are members of the Women's Initiative Program.
Patrick L. Murphree Memorial Scholarship Fund
First priority shall be given to full time undergraduate students with majors in the Culverhouse College of Business who are from Decatur High School in Decatur AL. Second priority shall be given to CBA majors from Morgan County AL.
The Vulcan Materials Company Annual Scholarship in Business
Priority of consideration shall be given to students who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business with the greatest current need for scholarships, as determined by the Dean of the College.
Knight Family Annual Scholarship
Priority of consideration is given to up to two junior or senior students each academic year who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business, and to the extent permitted by law, whose enrollment would enhance the diversity of the College’s student population, thereby improving the quality of the College’s educational experience and product. It is the Donor Representative’s intent that scholarship recipients be selected on the basis of scholarship, leadership criteria, and potential for success, but have faced hardships in either their personal lives or at home and may not otherwise be able to attend college due to financial need. The scholarship may be renewable for each of the subsequent years of a recipient’s undergraduate education provided the recipient remains enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business, maintains at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and provided the scholarship committee deems the recipient’s performance and academic progress satisfactory.
Baggett Transportation Company Endowed Scholarship
Award to deserving graduate or undergraduate students on the basis of academic excellence who are majoring in one of the academic programs offered by the College of Commerce and Business Administration.
William Kellum C&BA Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to full time students enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business.
Yong Ho Shin, Founder of Daehan Kyoyuk Insurance Company, Ltd. Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to Korean graduate students who intend to pursue a master's or doctoral degree in the College of Business and specializing in the field of insurance or finance. Recipients shall be designated as the Yong Ho Shin Scholars in honor of the founder of the Daehan Kyoyuk Insurance Company, Ltd.
Rance M. Sanders Endowed Scholarship
Priority of consideration shall be given to juniors, seniors, and master's students enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business who are concentrating in the field of real estate, reside in the state of Alabama and possess a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Recipients of the award shall be known as Sanders Scholars. The scholarship may be renewable for each of the subsequent years of a recipient's undergraduate or graduate education provided the scholarship committee deems the recipient's performance and academic progress to be worthy of retention and provided the recipient remains enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business. How are recipients notified?
All award letters are sent to the student’s crimson email account and will contain instructions on how to accept the awards.
When will recipients be notified?
Recipients are notified between March and April of each year.
What is the typical amount of an award?
Award amounts vary based on the scholarship in question. Typical awards range from $500 a semester to $1500 a semester.
What GPA do I have to have to keep my scholarship?
Your UA GPA must meet the minimum qualifications set forth in the individual scholarship; traditionally that GPA requirement is a 3.0.
What happens if I do not meet the GPA requirement?
You will be on probation which requires a semester GPA of 3.0. If you are unable to meet that requirement you will lose the scholarship but are eligible to reapply the following year if grades improve.
What should I include in my application?
Please be thorough when filling out your application. Set aside at least 30 minutes to complete it. List any achievements or interests that you believe help set you apart from the other applications. When in doubt add more information not less. If you have declared a specialization, please indicate in the last question on the scholarship application under 'Extenuating Circumstances.'
