Start Your Accounting and Business Future

Are you a high school student? Have you wondered about a college major? What could be your future career opportunities? How can you finance your education? Then consider spending a week at Culverhouse and learn alongside a diverse set of peers.

Culverhouse holds a summer program for high school students – Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP). This exceptional program is intended to give underrepresented minority students a residential opportunity at the University and raise awareness of the vastly growing business society.

Students will participate in specially designed sessions including major specific presentations, leadership, team building, college admissions, financial aid, and more. In addition to daily lectures and workshops, students will participate in a group case study that allows them to work collaboratively and use knowledge gained throughout the week to bring an innovative and original business plan to life.  Winners of this competition will receive a $1,000 scholarship and other prizes. Students will also participate in corporate tours, relationship building activities, and group outings throughout the week.

Our hope is that students leave the program with a greater understanding of the dynamic world of accounting and how an accounting career can help them on their path to success.
